Meet a coin collector who spent Rs. 3.5million for hobby! - Yahoo! India News
Patna, Sep 21(ANI): Chanakya Raju, a 27-year-old man, has a unique hobby of collecting coins and currency notes, and today boasts of having a collection from 218 countries.
Raju developed his passion for coins and currency notes at a very young age and now has a rich collection, with some items dating back to several centuries.
A hobby, which is dear to Raju's heart, indeed has been pretty dear in terms of money as well, since he has spent around Rs. 3.5 million in raising his collection.
"I have spent more than Rs. 3.5 million in coming up with this currency collection. I am looking forward for my name to be registered in Guinness Book of World Records," Raju said.
His most treasured coins are ones dating back to the era of sixteenth century.
Among his collection are the silver coins, which were in circulation during the regime of Krishna Devaraya of Vijayanagar fame and the Nizam of Hyderabad.
"I have unique collection 1,800 coins. Some of them are very old and some belong to the sixteenth century," Raju added.
He says that it is an invaluable collection for him and he will preserve them forever. By Ajay Kumar (ANI)
